This expression includes a detailed personal account of my attempted rape.

A personal piece I felt a strong need to express in writing as I piece together the importance shadow work (self exploration work that seeks to see and understand the unconcious as rejected aspects of ourselves that cause us to act and respond in less than desirable ways).

It wishes to emerge after another round of deep healing work related to and triggered by sexual trauma in my life.

I feel a shift in my awareness to admit and in my peripheral awareness to begin seeking connections and solutions to the problem of sexual violence and trauma in our society and culture and how I might be able to use all I have learned to make a difference and to find solutions in this area.

I am reminded how far I have come in my expression from writing this and obviously fealing fear to publish it.

Now six months later as I am about to post one of my most intimate expressions yet I can see how far I have come.

A brief summary....

“Terri, can I ask you one thing... What's with Consett?” I laughed, as my Aussy friend asked the question I have been trying to answer since I was a child and I had decided I was living in the twilight zone; and no one else realised it.

It is well known by anyone who has lived or worked here that Consett is a unique place, a bubble of a town that is just...different! It is discussed always when I meet others who know the place, we all know the same to be true and relish the connection made by confirming it so. Over my years living here and away from here with time to compare and reflect, noticing patterns linking behaviours and events I have managed to answer my question, sort of, in a very big, complex theory. I call Trauma Town theory.

These are my top ten solutions in a nutshell of how I survived Trauma Town.
Easier said than done...totally survivable.

Trauma is a contagious disease, like a mass delusion spilling into realty, which has caused much more harm than Corona Virus (covid-19) or ay other biological threat, even cancer, ever has or ever will, for generations. Its effects are physical, emotional, mental and spiritual. Trauma can harm part of us beyond all repair, we will always be forever changed. Trauma can also be healed.

I am not nice

I wanted to declare, in the intention of being honest, that I am not a nice person, nor do I aspire to be. I am not nice through the want to be unkind or hurtful, I am not nice becuase I see how damaging being "nice" can be. I would rather be honest. I have a history of being on the edges, never really fitting into any group, enough to be picked on and called out yet not too far not to be able to be friendly with a wde range of people.

Welcome to the beginning...
My introduction to the theory.

I have a theory. It is a big, complex, web of a theory that will take me some time to unpack. This blog is the unpacking of that theory in written form.

My theory, in it's simplest form is that I believe populations of people have been systematically put into a sort of Stockholm Syndrome type trance, using mental, physical, emotional and spirtual abuse, spanning over hundreds of years. What we are experincing as a global community now has been in motion for a long time and unless we can see the truth of our situation, we will bcome pawns in a war between ourselves, we never realised we were in.
