The Humanity Prayer

A Non-Patriarchal Lord's Prayer

Intention is everything. It is all we have control over in our lives, the rest is out of our hands. The outcome of our actions, our words or our connections is beyond our power, yet our words have such power what we say can change everything. The intention behind our words is important and the choice of words we choose to put power into is vital.

Our words and thoughts shape us, they help to dictate who we are, how we are perceived and what kind of world we create around us. Prayer and the sharing of our words and thoughts aloud to ourselves and with the universe is powerful. It is the source of all our intention and all our power in the world. I realised this not too long ago and in the horror of my realisation have been trying to consciously be aware and adapt my thoughts and words to align with my truth.

It was probably about two years ago or so when I was first given this prayer as an alternative to the Patriarchal "Lords" prayer that is used so prolifically in our world today. Still wanting to tap into the original loving source of this message and the power created by the collective intention of it, while having no interest at all in giving power to the Patriarchy or to the worship of any Lords. I asked for a non-patriarchal prayer and this one was given to me by my middle path guide, Mother Mary.

I have been using the prayer most days since. The prayer has changed as my understanding of the words I am using changed. This is now the version I use daily and I wanted to share it.

Sacred Mother Earth,
Source of all Light and Life,
Continuous stream of Divine Love...
Great respect is given as you are named GOD.
All that is, was and will be.

Your power of sovereignty fills me up and over flows
as I choose to walk the way of the Middle Path,
with ease, balance and grace.

I am thankful that all my needs are met daily.
I give great gratitude for all that I am,
All that I love and all that I have.

I forgive my compulsions to control,
as I forgive those that impose their will upon me.
I free myself from unhealthy attachments
as I know I am protected from all Evil influences and harm.

Because yours is the realm of unlimited imagination,
creation, motivation and inspiration.
Always and Forever.

Amen.

This prayer has changed my life, it has brought me inner strength I don't think I could have found without it. I hope, if you are drawn to this prayer that you use it too and find great benefit from it.

Part of our transition into the new world will be to question the narrative of the words we use, in relation to the world we want to create and how we relate to one another. For me letting go of the idea of “human” meaning “man” and somehow that equaling men being above or better than women is part of my new world, for sure. This prayer reinforces my personal power, my inner knowing and my own strength and it keeps me grounded between what is possible within our earth limits and what is achievable within the realms of love and God.
