Making a start...

This will be my 5th land based project and my strategy and design for it will be a direct result of my previous 4 project experinces.

I hope the local community will trust me to guardian the space and lead the development with a clear vision for a beautiful and enjoyable space.

I will be making connections before any major work starts on site.

My intial plan for this month is:

• Gather local feedback and response to the idea for the site.
• Begin more detailed observations of the space for the next 4 weeks.
• Create hardstanding for the facility over the summer.
• Begin preparing the land for working next season.

Day 1

To begin I need to see what is growing and feel the lay of the land. I will be maing observations as to the depth of the soil, the type of earth there and the water & wind flows.

I have started by cutting back a path and I will be clearing a space to measure out where the central facility will be and begin the observation phase.

In a permaculture design (which this will be) observation is always our starting point and luckily with 3 years watching the space as a walker and gathering research from local residents I already know a good bit of history for this plot.
